Look busy!Even if you are not stressed , pretend that you are stressed out. Remember those who got the raise and promotion by not exactly working hard but just pretending that they have a lot of work by looking stressed out!
Network vigorously. Interact with your colleagues , peers let them know about your work. Good networking skills really helps in enhancing your career . Work late, rather than coming early when no one is there to witness your sincerity. When you work late your boss would surely see you .
Try to create a " buzz" around you. Do something so that people will praise you, help out other people if they need and then let other people know , this creates a chain impact. But remember not to show off.

Go with innovation in mind.Understand the business drivers, define the trends and find new ways of applying exsiting or new technology to make task more efficient, cheaper, faster. Seek out business problems and try to find its solutions. No risk - no gain. Take up potentially risky but high profile task . Even if you fail , you will be remembered for daring to do it.
